Mario Lombardo Research Award

Regensight promotes better research culture to improve the quality of life of young people afflicted by keratoconus.

The Mario Lombardo Research Award has been established in memory of our co-founders, Marco and Giuseppe, father.

The prize is awarded annually to a young researcher involved in the study and research on keratoconus.

The minimum criteria for awarding the prize are as follows:

  • Age less than 35 years
  • Degree title
  • Scientific publication regarding the epidemiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis or treatment of keratoconus, in the year in which the Prize is awarded.

The merit bonus is awarded for the following criteria:

  • Post-graduate specialization title.
  • PhD title.
  • Number of publications in the year in which the Prize is awarded.
  • Impact factor of the publication(s)
  • H-index of the young researcher

Any interested young researcher can send the curriculum vitae and the scientific publications to 4social@regensight.com by 23 October of each year.

The winner is made public on November 11th of each year.

The prize consists of a maximum amount of €2.500.

The first edition of the award was assigned to Dr. Raffaella Gioia.

The second edition was assigned to Dr. Francesco D’Oria.

The third edition was assigned to Dr. Umberto Camellin.
